Colorful and eco-friendly, these papier mâché pieces begin with recycled paper interiors, finished off with iconic South African product labels. Artisans living with HIV/AIDS craft these bowls under the auspices of a non-profit organization in Cape Town, South Africa.
Wola Nani (Xhosa for "we embrace and develop one another") began in 1994 and focuses on the needs of women and children affected by HIV/AIDS. The group offers programs in areas as diverse as education and awareness building, health support for those living with HIV/AIDS, and skills training and income generation.
