Internationally-renowned Monkeybiz in Cape Town works with this Rubber Project to create one-of-a-kind "upcycled" creations known as "Zolo"s (from the Xhosa word meaning "brand new").  Located in Makhaza Township, this group collects old tires for their inner tubes, cuts out intricate shapes from the rubber, and decorates them with beads, buttons, and colorful stitching.  Each unique piece has its own personality, from the bead and jewelry accents to the markings on the tires.
